4 cups -Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
¼ cup -Water
8 cups -Sliced, peeled cooking apples (ie. Fireside, Sweet
Sixteen, Haralson)
2 cups -Sugar
-Optional: pecans, orange zest, raisins, currants,
cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice

Directions:

In a large pot, simmer cranberries & water for 20-25
minutes, or until cranberries burst. Add apples, cover
and simmer for 30-40 minutes until desired texture is
achieved. The longer you cook the apples, the more
smooth the texture. Add sugar and optional spices,
simmer 5 more minutes. Pour into heat-proof bowls
and let cool to room temperature, then chill in
refrigerator. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
